The Fund Managers Association of Nigeria ``FMAN” is an independent, non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making organization established in August, 2009. The FMAN is licensed as a Trade Group by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to promote the operations of Fund Managers registered with the SEC in Nigeria, provide for self-regulation and supervision of SEC-registered Fund Managers and ensure the observance of global best practices relating to the operations of Fund Managers.

The aim of the Association is to address all the issues affecting the industry’s development and represent its members at national and international levels by actively engaging with policy makers, regulators and stakeholders in a purposeful discussion about the current and future regulatory framework for the industry.

The Association’s focus is on education, industry thought leadership, enhancing compliance with regulations, market development and promoting international best practices for the benefit of its members, retail and institutional investors, policy makers and other stakeholders.

Our Objectives
  • To facilitate and encourage member institutions on compliance with regulations and promote the highest professional standards, integrity and ethical conduct amongst members;
  • To represent and promote the interests of members in a professional and ethical manner;
  • To engage regulators with the aim of being heard on matters not limited to legislation, policy and taxation in order to grow the Nigerian capital market;
  • To facilitate a forum through which members can consult and advance all such matters of mutual concern and common interest, so as to speak with one voice and lobby effectively;
  • To promote investment products and advise on the right investments vehicles through education
  • Disseminate information to the public on the theory and practice of fund management through the most appropriate media. Undertake activities aimed at improving awareness of the fund management sub-sector, interact with regulators, government, society and other organizations to advance the practice of fund management in Nigeria
