Deji Alli is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mixta Africa SA. Prior to this, he served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Asset & Resource Management Company Limited (ARM Group), a role which he stepped down from in July 2015. He was conferred the National Honours Award — Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 2014 in recognition of his contributions to the Nigerian financial services industry.
Deji’s career also spans Prudential Portfolio Managers Limited, UK and the African Development Bank (AfDB). He holds a B.S degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, and a post-graduate degree in Finance. He is also an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.
Mr. Bismarck Rewane serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of Financial Derivatives Company Limited. Mr. Rewane joined the First National Bank of Chicago in 1976 as Deputy Manager (Credit). He began his banking career with Barclays Bank, UK, in 1973 and moved to Barclays Bank of Nigeria in 1975. Mr. Rewane joined International Merchant Bank Nigeria Limited in 1981 where he served as General Manager until 1996. He has been an Independent Non Executive Director at FCMB Group Plc (formerly, First City Monument Bank Plc.) since 2002.
He has served on the board of Lion Bank of Nigeria plc and Intercity Bank of Nigeria Limited. He serves on the boards of Top Feeds Nigeria Limited and Delta Packaging Nigeria Limited. Mr. Rewane has addressed many professional and business gatherings on subjects such as foreign exchange management, liability management in a deregulated economy, tools of money market analysis and techniques of investment in public debt instrument. He obtained a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1972 and became an Associate of The Institute of Bankers (England & Wales) in 1975. Mr. Adedotun (Dotun) Sulaiman is Group Chairman of the Board of Cornerstone Insurance PLC. He is a management consultant, specializing in organizational development, enterprise transformation and business process reengineering. In addition to his duties at the Company, Mr. Sulaiman is Chairman of the Board of several companies, traversing several sectors of the economy with an emphasis on the emerging electronic payments industry and companies in the entrepreneurial stage.
He began his professional career as a Diplomat, including a stint at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington District of Columbia (DC) as Consular Officer from late 1976 to early 1978. In late 1978, he joined the Management Information Consulting Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. (later Andersen Consulting, now Accenture). He rose rapidly through the ranks to become Local Partner in 1984 and Partner in the Worldwide Firm in 1989. He took over from the founding Managing Partner, Dick Kramer, in 1993 and remained Country Managing Partner for both Arthur Andersen, the Audit and Tax firm as well as Andersen consulting until 1999 when with the complete separation of the consulting business from the Arthur Andersen Worldwide Organization, he became the Country Managing Director of Accenture, the new name of the independent management and technology consulting arm. In March 2005, he retired from his executive leadership of Accenture in Nigeria and took on the supporting role of Non-Executive Chairman and an 18-month contractual role. Mr. Sulaiman also qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. He attended the Program for Management Development (PMD) at the Harvard Business School in 1990. Mr. Sulaiman obtained a First Class Honors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1975.
Mrs. Hajara Adeola is the Managing Director of Lotus Capital Limited, a Nigerian pioneer in Shari’ah compliant Asset Management, Private Wealth Management Advisory Services and Financial Advisory Services. She comes to Lotus Capital from UBS Warburg where she was a Director heading their London Islamic Finance Desk. Prior to joining UBS, she was a Convertible Bond Research Analyst at BNP Paribas, London.
Hajara Adeola began her career as a consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). From there she joined ARM Investment Managers as a pioneer staff and rose to Vice-President and Head of the Research and Financial Advisory Units. In all, she has over 20 years of international experience in research and analysis, investment management and corporate finance.
She holds an M.Sc in Finance from Durham University where she specialized in Islamic Finance. She also holds an MBA in International Management from Exeter University and a B.Sc in Pharmacology from King’s College, London. Mrs. Adeola is the first President of the Fund Manager’s Association of Nigeria and a West African Fellow of the Aspen Leadership Initiative. She is also the Chairperson of the Securities & Exchange Commission’s non-interest capital market 10 year master plan committee and a Director of the Aliko Dangote Foundation.
Mr. Nicholas Nyamali is the Group Managing Director and Founder of Investment One Financial Services Limited (formerly GTB Asset Management).
Mr. Nicholas has over 25 years’ experience working in banking, management consultancy and investment management in Europe and Africa.
Returning to Nigeria after a successful stint in McKinsey & Co, London, he founded Investment One (then called GTB Asset Management) in partnership with Guaranty Trust Bank in 2008. Despite the economic headwinds with the global financial crises in 2007 and the collapse of the Nigerian equity market in 2008, he successfully navigated the new company to survive the crises. Still trying to stabilize, the company had to face a new headwind with the 2010 reform of the Nigerian banking sector that led to the divestment of GTBank from the company in 2011.
Nicholas led a management buyout of the company, rebranded it as Investment One and proceeded to expand the Group businesses by acquisition and organic growth from the initial asset management and stock broking businesses to include businesses in mutual funds and pension funds management, investment banking, venture capital/private equity, project finance and real estate.
Nicholas holds a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) and Economics (MSc) as well as an MBA from the London Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, UK and Nigeria; as well as a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment UK.
Prior to setting up Investment One, Nicholas has banking experience with Guaranty Trust Bank, Nigeria and Barclays Capital, UK. He also has consultancy experience working with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mckinsey & Company.
He has steered Investment One to great heights, as the company has recorded tremendous growth and success over the years.
His areas of expertise are Law, Investment Management, Investment Banking, Strategy and International Business. He currently serves as a member of the Technical Committee of the National Council on Privatization of Nigeria, and also consultant to the Federal government on Economic Matters.
Nicholas has a passion for helping young professionals; he has regular mentoring programmes for young professionals steering them in the right direction of their chosen careers and helping them grow into future industry leaders. He is a strong believer in the future of Africa and the potential in African youths.
He believes that tenacity (Not giving up), adaptability (Ability to adapt to changing environmental policies) and foresight (Long term strategic vision/planning) are critical traits to succeed in business in Africa.
